For a detailed description of my practice, please read “Surrogate Work: Hands-On Sex Therapy” on www.CarnalNation.com.

As a surrogate partner, I work with clients on issues such as:

  • Performance and generalized anxiety
  • Lack of experience
  • Low desire
  • History of sexual, physical or emotional abuse
  • Disabilities that interfere with one’s sex life

For men:

  • Erectile dysfunction (trouble getting and maintaining an erection)
  • Early ejaculation (difficulty controlling or delaying ejaculation)
  • Delayed ejaculation (problems reaching orgasm or ejaculating)

For women:

  • Anorgasmia (trouble reaching orgasm)
  • Difficulty with vaginal lubrication or dilation
  • Vaginismus (pain upon penetration or inability to be penetrated)

I’ve practiced surrogate partner therapy part-time since 1999, when I took an intensive training with IPSA, the International Professional Surrogates Association (www.surrogatetherapy.org), centered in Southern California.

I work closely with licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, and sex therapists. In most cases, the therapist refers the client to me, but sometimes prospective clients contact me directly and I help them find a therapist. Between sessions, I consult the therapist to discuss the client’s progress and plan the next session, and the client sees his or her therapist to talk about emotional and sexual issues that come up during our work.
